Returning Home Through Movement: Dr. Dylan’s Journey of Healing, Heritage & Purpose

Dr. Dylan NY

At True Dance Potential (TDP) and True Sports Performance (TSP), we are more than a training facility — we are a home for artistry, athleticism, and human connection. And it’s in that spirit that we’re honored to spotlight one of the most essential voices in our community: Dr. Dylan Tarrant.

As both a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Dance/Movement Therapy Master’s Candidate, Dr. Dylan has helped shape the way we train and educate dancers and athletes — bridging clinical science, cultural identity, and holistic healing through movement. His impact on our programs, our dancers, and our team is immeasurable.

But now, he’s embarking on something even more personal.

A Journey to the Land of His Ancestors

Dr. Dylan is currently preparing for a transformational trip to Tutuila, American Samoa — specifically the villages of Utulei and Fagatogo — where he’ll write his graduate thesis and connect with his ancestral roots for the very first time.

This isn’t just an academic journey. It’s a deeply spiritual homecoming — a return to the land his family comes from, and a space to explore Siva Samoa, the traditional Samoan dance, as a sacred expression of cultural identity, memory, and embodied wisdom.

“Learning Siva Samoa is more than just dance. It’s truth. It’s healing. It’s remembering.” — Dr. Dylan

What This Means for Our Community

Dr. Dylan’s research centers around the importance of bringing your whole self into every space — including the studio. Culture, history, emotion, identity — all of these belong in the body when we move. That belief is deeply aligned with the mission of TDP and TSP: training the full individual, not just their technique.

Through his movement therapy sessions, postural realignment strategies, and injury prevention protocols, Dr. Dylan has helped countless dancers and athletes at our Holbrook facility grow stronger — not just physically, but emotionally and energetically. His ability to connect trauma-informed healing, cultural heritage, and functional science is unlike anything else in the training world.

And now, as he steps into this powerful journey of self-discovery, we are so proud to support him.

What’s Next for Dr. Dylan — and TDP/TSP

While in American Samoa, Dr. Dylan will immerse himself in story, rhythm, and stillness — documenting his findings, dancing with elders, and reflecting on the ways embodied memory plays a role in healing the mind and body. His thesis will serve as a guiding text for future dance therapists, clinicians, and educators — and we are honored that this journey began with the same values we uphold every day at TDP and TSP.

Upon returning, he’ll continue to offer:

  • 1:1 Clinical Sessions focused on posture, movement mechanics, and pain prevention
  • Group Recovery & Mobility Labs for artistic athletes of all ages
  • Workshops on Emotional Regulation through Movement
  • Chiropractic & Kinetic Evaluations that incorporate dance/movement therapy insight

Dr. Dylan is a living example of what happens when education, emotion, and movement collide. And we can’t wait to welcome him home — even more connected, more grounded, and more inspired.

Thank You, Dr. Dylan

We are endlessly thankful to have Dr. Dylan as part of our TDP/TSP family. His depth, his care, and his unwavering commitment to healing through movement is something we cherish — and we know this journey is only the beginning of something even bigger.

Fa’afetai tele lava, Dr. Dylan. Your work matters. Your voice matters. Your movement matters.

This is more than training. This is transformation.
Let’s continue building something beautiful — together.
